Listing is for a single Osram PL520B 120mW 520nm laser diode in a standard 12mm copper module with leads. The copper module upgrade provides a huge improvement in thermal conductivity over the standard brass module for moving the heat away from the diode to your heatsink which gives a much more stable output from the diode. Save yourself the headache of extracting, pressing and soldering on your diode. Just add host, heatsink and driver. The current must be limited to no more than 300mA to the diode. Don't attempt to connect the diode directly to a fixed voltage source like a battery. The diode requires a proper laser driver to operate. For drop in ready units that have the diode in modules with the driver installed and glass lens see my other PL520B listings. Listing is for a single 9mm 1W NDG7475 520nm laser diode mounted in a 12mm x 30mm copper module with thermal back half. This option assumes you have a glass lens you wish to use with the module. Please Note this module comes with an acrylic lens in it to keep dust out. It can not handle the power this unit can put out. It will keep contaminates out of the module until you are ready to put yours glass lens in. Replace with your glass lens of choice before powering the module. The best options are the Aixiz 405/445 Glass Lens or the 405 G-2 Lens. Warning. I have had multiple customers informing me they have received 700mW NDG700 520 diodes from foreign sellers advertised as 1W 520 diodes or 1W 520nm NDG7475(T). Talked with my supplier who confirmed this is going on saying it is a common practice currently. I also looked closely at some of the mentioned listings. The NDG700 700mW diode can be driven to 1W so they are selling them as 1W diodes. This may make it an accurate claim of potential power but confusing to customers. The actual NDG7475 1W 520nm diode can be driven to 1.4W easily with some of the more efficient ones doing 1.6W+ where the NDG700 can not exceed 1W and are less expnesive. The one common thing I notices in all the of these listings was an edited version of the NDG7475 datasheet showing 1.8A as the drive current which is required for the NDG700 700mW diode to hit 1W. The datasheet for the NDG7574 is(and has always shown) 1.7A as the max drive current so if you see max drive current or forward current with 1.8A it is a pretty good bet they are NDG700 being offered. Save yourself the headache of pressing and soldering. Just add heatsink and driver limiting the current to 2.4A or less. Here is what you get. One 9mm 1W 520nm diode mounted in a 12mm x 30mm copper module with leads. Here is the Pinout for the diode. Ignore the non existent case pin in the diagram. Diodes are current hungry and as they heat up their internal resistance is lowered causing them to want to draw more current. Don't attempt to connect the diode directly to a fixed voltage source like a battery. You must use a "constant current" laser driver with the current limited to no more than 2.4A. Here is my testing on this diode Nichia NDG7475 1W 520nm Laser DiodeExciting day. Finally got my 1W Green diodes and could not wait to do some testing on them.:eg:This 9mm diode has off center pins.First thing I did is pop one in a sink and fire it up. Was amazed the brightness of the beam indoors during the day. Really bright. Then beam specs and divergence seem to be nearly the exact same as the NDB7875 and M140 445nm diodes. This diode with the G-2 has a pretty identical box reflection as the NDB7875 and M140 as well. So next I decided to put the NDG7475 head to head with the NDB7875 @ 25 Feet they were both about 23mm with a G-2.So now on to the meat here is the LPM test of the diode. I expected this thing to dim maybe around 2.5A but it just kept going. I decided to end it when I started getting foldback around 3.5A. There really was not much gain from 2.5A up but wanted to see where it dimmed but it never did at least to where I felt it would not blow up as they are kind of pricey. Would not suggest driving past this point. Stay 2.4A or under. There you have it. Whole lot of of Green goodness. Oh and for some dark shots. *Disclamer* By purchasing these diodes you are agreeing to the following. - You are over 18 years of age . - You understand that these components that are mentioned above are dangerous when not properly assembled into a finished product. - You will use these as components and properly incorporate them into a finished product. - You will use these diodes/modules in a safe and responsible manner and for a legal purpose. - You are legally responsible for the use of these components, improper use of these components or their end products. - You are legally responsible for any injury to anybody resulting from the use of or assembly of these components or their finished products. - You Accept this diode/module as a COMPONENT for integration in a system of YOUR OWN design and will be legally responsible from any and all LIABILITIES These Diodes and Modules are sold solely as a component for incorporation into the customer's end products. FINALLY NO MORE COMPROMISING LARGE POWER LOSSES FOR A REDUCED SPOT SIZE OR EXCESSIVE STRAY LIGHT PROJECTING AROUND THE SPOT!!! DTR-G-8 Glass Collimation Lens.Broadband AR Coating 400nm-700nm It's being called the "miracle lens". This lens is a long focal length single element glass lens with a broadband AR coating. It has a 90% pas efficiency which is amazing for a longer focal length lens. It does an amazing job of cleaning up stray light around the projected spot with many common diodes caused by the small amounts of uncollmated light escaping the lasing cavity reflecting off things like the edge of the emitter, walls of the module or inner walls of the lens barrel. causes things like the ghost box image that is projected under the spot generated from the newer very high power diodes when using a short focal length single element lens like the DTR-G-2 or countless other similar lenses being sold as G-2's. It creates a greatly reduced spot size while maintaining a 90% pass efficiency compared to the 96% pass efficiency of a DTR-G-2.I will add more specs, testing data, comparisons with various common diode/lens combinations and pictures of spot with various diodes to come as soon as I get to them. In the mean time see the threads over on the forum linked above for lots of community testing, comparisons with other common lenses, other observations, questions and general discussion.
