Listing is for a single 9mm 7W NUBM44-V2 450nm laser diode mounted in a 12mm x 30mm copper module with thermal back half and leads added. This option assumes you have a glass lens you wish to use. Please Note this module option is for those that have a glass lens they wish to use with the unit and it will come with an acrylic lens in to keep the diode pocket clean. It can not handle the power this unit can put out. It will keep contaminates out of the module until you are ready to put yours glass lens in. Replace with your glass lens of choice before powering the module. The best options are the Aixiz 405/445 Glass Lens or the 405 G-2 Lens. With all laser diodes keeping the diode pocket clean and especially with this diode due to the extreme power that is densely packed passing through a very small area of the glass window on the diode the smallest particle of dust can cause the window to burn up and damage to the diode. at the glass window on the diode. Whenever the diode pocket is exposed by removing the lens exposing to the environment take extra precautions to avoid particle contamination. Change lens in clean environment and use compressed air if you have it. This damage is common to experience after at lens change or anytime the lens has been taken out. Suggest once you have a lens in and working only take it out if absolutely necessary. If you need a lens with the unit I do offer this unit in a combo with a three element or with the G-2. See my other listings. This is the next level up to the older NDB7A75 diodes that do about 5W. This NUBM44 diode is capable of over 6.5W output when using a G-2 lens and 4.5A current with proper heatsinking. UPDATE the NUBM44-V1 diode out of the NUBM44-71/NUBM47T blocks have been out of production for about a year now. It is now clear that the NUBM44-V2 diodes in the NUBM44-81/NUBM47-A1 blocks from currently in production projectors have an updated higher efficiency version of the diode. This change is mirrors when the A140 445nm diodes were testing with a large increase in power that had not been seen previously leading to identifying the changeover and the more efficient version being called the M140 445nm diode. The V2 diode has identical beam properties as the V1 but have on average a 10% increase in efficiency. The V2 will do well over 7W with 4.5A using a G-2 glass lens with some pushing over 8W. 44 vs 47 is 8 diode block vs 10 diode block. There is some confusion that the power difference is 44 vs 47 which is not correct. It is: 6W NUBM44-71/NUBM47T vs 7W NUBM44-81/NUBM47-A1.!!if you have purchased a NUBM44 from me in the last six months You have received a NUBM44-V2 and a mixed chance for it being either a V1 or V2 version going several months back of that mid 2017.!! Save yourself the headache of pressing and soldering. Just add heatsink and driver limiting the current to 4.5A or less. Diodes are current hungry and as they heat up their internal resistance is lowered causing them to want to draw more current. Don't attempt to connect the diode directly to a fixed voltage source like a battery or wall adapter. A laser driver limited to no more than 4.5A is needed to power this diode. If you run off a alternative power source like a bench power supply you are accepting the risk of doing so. Non Laser driver power sources can cause reduced life or even immediate damage.
