Those Mettler AE balances haven't been made for decades, but they keep on keepin' on... up until that tare bar breaks. So, we 3D print them and provide them as a drop-in replacement. The engineering is a little different, there's no tiny little boxy piece of plastic that breaks, rendering the entire balance for-want-of-a-nail-the-battle-was-lost broken. Not sure how long they'll last, but I've had one in use for a few years, so- here's hoping. The image is of two tare bars, so as to show the underside. You are purchasing *one* tare bar- just to make that clear. Now, they're a little touchy on the install- twist too hard and you're self-tapping that piece of plastic on the foot with the original screw, and you can torque off the foot, where it attaches to the balance. I recommend holding the foot (which is square) with some needle-nose pliers while driving the screw in. If it torques off, it can also be repaired with a bit of Krazy Glue, but I don't want anyone to have to do that so- be a little cautious during the install, please. These are brand new, hot off the presses. They should fit all these old AE balances, but if you find for some reason it doesn't fit your model, just send it back, we'll refund your purchase fee.
